CROSS COUNTRY COACHING STAFF
Scott Huskey, has been the Tennis coach at Brandon High School since 1999 and the Head Cross Country Coach since 2001. Named Rankin ledger Tennis Coach of the year in 2006 and MHSAA State Tennis Coach of the Year in 2009. The Tennis team has won division championships in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. The tennis team won the 5A South State Championship in 2008. The Cross Country program has won over 40 meets since 2001 including Boys division championships in 2003,2004,2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2013. The girls won the division in 2005 and 2012. Both the Girls and boys Cross country teams have placed in the top five in the state in 2003-2013. Last season the cross country girls placed in the Top 4 in the State, and the cross country boys placed top 7. Both the Tennis and Cross country teams are MHSAA Scholar Athlete teams. Sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and teaches AP American Government and Advanced Placement United States History.
Sidney Parker became an assistant cross country coach in 2019. That year, the girls team recognized five all-region runners and one All-State Champion. They placed first in the Clinton Invitational and the Clark County Invitational, fourth in state, and second in the regional championship. Coach Parker graduated from University of Mississippi with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education and now teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry.
Eli Martin is in his first year as an assistant coach for the Cross Country and Track teams. Coach Martin is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and teaches US History and Physical Education at Brandon Middle School.
